Quinta De Linaje

On the Madrid leg of Our Recent vacation, we choose the Pontifical Various web based on reviews. Using this small \ \ \ "Cottage \ \ \" as a base for day trips to Madrid, Cuenca, Toledo and Alcala de Henares, We Were Taken well care of by Ms. Diaz, the owner. The Pontifical is a lovingly restored granary with five en suite rooms on the top floor, dining / breakfast room one floor down to basement bar tucked Then Into a \ \ \ "cavern \ \ \". After a long flight from the U.S., we Arrived Exhausted and jet lagg at 10 in the morning, expecting to drop Our bags and explore the area Until We Could \ \ \ "check in \ \ \". We Were Told Our room was ready and we welcome to the breakfast WHERE laid out and Coffee. Hot croissants Every morning, my husband sooo them Look Forward to Each Day. There Was Also meats and cheese, yogurts, cereal, fresh squeezed orange juice, fruits, and a Variety of breads. We Had reserved a standard double room and our room, # 4 Had a poster queen bed, large double closet, desk and chair, flat screen TV, nice sized bath with shower, soaps, shampoo, shower gels, toothbrushes, hair dryer, small space heater, and a fabulous view, of the five rooms, # 4, 5 and 2 Will Have the best views. The village of Los Santos Humosa is perched on a hill 30 km east of the Madrid airport and just off the A2 is a great spot for hiking and biking, We Were There early in the season so the fields Were Not as pretty as the brochures. A rental car is best to make the best use of your time and please bring maps and use a type garmin car navigation device. The village has many tight winding streets and Ms. Diaz has put up more signs for the hotel Which is near the church at the top of the hill. The Pontifical SERVES lunch every day, But dinner only on Saturday, as we WHERE out most of the day, we would eat Before we return. We would recommend The Pontifical Certainly if you are looking for a quiet getaway, for a nature / athletic outing, or as We Used it, for day trips in and around Madrid.
